Privacy Policy
Rakus Audio is a one-person operation. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it. We've written it to be read, not lawyered through.

What we collect and why
Account data
When you register, we collect your email address and optional first name. We use this to identify your account, deliver your license key, and send essential transactional emails (license delivery, password reset). Nothing else.
Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Purchase data
When you buy a plugin, Stripe processes your payment. We receive a record of the transaction (amount, currency, Stripe customer ID, product purchased) to fulfil your order and maintain an audit trail. We do not receive or store your card details — those stay with Stripe.
Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interests (financial record-keeping).
License and activation data
We store your license key and, when you activate the plugin, a device ID (a randomly generated UUID created on your machine), device name, and platform (macOS / Windows). This is used solely to enforce your activation limit and let you manage your own activations.

What we do not collect
- No usage analytics or telemetry from the plugin
- No tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this site
- No behavioural profiling
- No marketing lists (you will not receive newsletters or promotional emails)
Cookies
This site sets a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party cookies, no tracking cookies, no consent banner required.
Third parties
We share data with Stripe (payment processing) as a data processor. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone else.
Retention
We retain account and purchase data for as long as your account exists plus seven years (statutory financial record-keeping requirement). Activation records are retained for the lifetime of your license.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, port, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@rakus.audio. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above. We will not retroactively expand how we use existing data without notifying you.
